I am an experienced dietitian, a member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and registered with the Health Professions Council (hpc).

hpc registration no. DT 01669.

 

I have completed the Diploma in Advanced Dietetic Practice (1999) and post registration training in dietetics and mental health (1994)

 

I have 30 years experience working as a specialist dietitian. Until November 2008 I worked in the NHS encouraging improved nutrition and food choices in a range of setting:

 

  • Individual person centred consultation

 

  • Group work

 

  • Identifying and planning realistic nutritional change

 

  • Project work  involving multi-agency working with the local authority, the independent and voluntary sectors

 

  • Delivering training to a wide variety of audiences

 

  • Practical groups for improving cooking skills  to promote nutritional intake

 

 

 

 

 

Since 2006 I have been working as a freelance dietitian and have significant experience working with:

 

  • Older people and their carers

  • People with mental health problems or learning disabilities

  • Nursing and residential care  homes

  • Prader Willi syndrome

  • Catering and teaching staff, governors and  pupils in school settings

  • Healthy lifestyle groups

  • Nutrition and dietary counselling
